The thefts took place around midnight Saturday in Moorestown, according to police.
Thieves stole the catalytic converters from nine school buses at Moorestown High School early Saturday, authorities said.Moorestown policeThe catalytic converters were removed from mini-school buses. Full-sized school buses run on diesel and do not contain catalytic converters.
School officials reported the thefts to police at 10 a.m. Saturday. Police said it’s believed two thieves are responsible, though no description was available. , which can cost more than $2,000 to replace, contain expensive metals such as platinum, rhodium, and palladium. The metal from catalytic converters is often sold to scrap yards.
