JM: Your hard work paid off. You had a 39-inch vertical and 10-foot-8 broad jump at the NFL Scouting Combine. How would you grade your overall performance?
Carrington Valentine: I’m just the ultimate competitor. I’m always going to go out there and compete. That’s always been my mindset. I don’t want to concede anything to anybody. I’m going to play hard. I’m physical. I love beating people up at the line of scrimmage. JM: With all that said, do you feel like you’re a better fit for man or zone coverage concepts at the next level?
Carrington Valentine: We mixed up zone and man coverages. You asked me about fitting into a zone or man scheme. We were very balanced at Kentucky. That’s why I feel like I can do both. I got a heavy dose of both. I never had that singular approach. We had to play man and zone. That experience is going to help me acclimate to the next level.Carrington Valentine: I’ve had Zoom meetings with the Packers, Commanders, Cardinals, Lions, Jets, and Raiders. I had an in-person visit with the Bengals.
