“We’ve been battling with Queen’s since the beginning of the year – this was our fourth time playing them and it’s always been tough – but our team, give them credit, it’s an amazing group of girls and I love them to death.” “We try to pride ourselves on making things tough for the other teams and we weren’t doing that,” she said, noting both her parents are from the Maritimes and that she spent a year in the Halifax area.
Queen’s was able to respond in the fourth quarter, cutting the Ravens’ lead to six with two minutes to play in the contest, but Carleton wouldn’t break and eventually held on for the victory.“We know Queen’s has an amazing team – we have to give them lots of credit – but we were motivated to just play for each other and that was the difference for us.”

He said the school submitted a letter of intent to host the 2024 tournament but decided to pull out when it was announced Cape Breton would be hosting the World Women’s Curling Championship in Sydney in March 2024.
