“Part of a report recommended that some maintenance needed to be done on the bridge. And they’re advising the province to start thinking ‘big picture’ stuff for that bridge. According to a statement issued to Kempt Head resident Parker Donham — a copy of which was sent to the Post earlier this year — initially the “development of the report expected to be completed in early 2023.”
“Thousands of people use that bridge, both in Victoria County and other people travelling to the via the Trans-Canada Highway 105,” he said at the time. “It’s a major piece of infrastructure; the third-largest in the province.” “Given the age of the bridge, the department has identified there is not only a need to maintain the current bridge, but also plan for the future of the crossing in a fiscally responsible manner,” part of the statement read.
