Every other year, there’s been something. But for all the frustrations, Boeser has kept playing the game because, in the end, it’s what he loves the most.
In hindsight, he admits, he shouldn’t have pushed so hard to get back in the lineup to open the season. “It really weight heavily on my mind, especially in the first half of the year,” he said. “Especially on the road. Just when you’re alone in your hotel room. When I’m here, I have my girlfriend Bella and my dogs and stuff. “It’s so easy to get caught up in today’s world and at the rink. I was not good at all at the beginning of the year. And not getting opportunities, which I feel I thrive off, certain opportunities as a player and gotten those looks, you’d come to the rink and try to work hard each day and you’re trying to push yourself, but there’s other things that affect you so it was a long year,” he said. “Right now I’m really happy with myself that I kept pushing through.
