Demko was calm, controlled and didn’t cough up rebounds, but was often under siege. It took the 32nd shot, a Nils Lundqvist effort that deflected off Brock Boeser early in the third period, to draw the Stars even at 4-4. Elias Pettersson was stopped in the final minute of regulation before Andrei Kuzmenko deflected an Anthony Beauvillier pass off a spin entry at the blue-line in overtime. After a lengthy review, it was ruled that Beauviller had puck control on his move.
