The San Antonio Parks and Recreation Department said watercraft rentals will be offered at Woodlawn Lake Park, seen in this 2016 file photo, and Elmendorf Lake Park.
Visitors of Elmendorf Lake Park and Woodlawn Lake Park can now enjoy the parks on land or in the water. The San Antonio Parks and Recreation Department announced an agreement with The Expedition School to bring watercraft rentals to the two city parks. The rentals will include canoes, single and tandem kayaks and stand-up paddleboards.The Expedition School, an Austin-based company whose mission is to provide safe and quality outdoor education experiences, is expanding into San Antonio.
“The Expedition School is more than a kayak rental vendor. They are community partners and environmental stewards who will provide accessible recreational opportunities and educational programming for our residents,” said Homer Garcia III, director of Parks and Recreation. Both Woodlawn and Elmendorf will have outdoor schools for youths and professional outdoor education programming and team-building events for groups.
