A pair of Canadian Navy ships will sail past the Victoria shoreline on Friday before they depart on a four-month deployment overseas.
The HMCS Vancouver and HMCS Ottawa, as well as the MV Asterix, will cruise past Victoria and Esquimalt around noon.
The sail past begins at 11:40 a.m. near Trial Islands, and will be viewable from shore at these approximate times Friday:The navy ships are bound for the Indo-Pacific region for their deployment, according to a release from the Department of National Defence.Sign up for the CHEK Now daily email newsletter to get breaking news and the day's top stories sent to your email.The DND says it will also upload images of the ship’s leaving the Island on the CFB BFC Esquimalt Facebook page.
