ST. JOHN'S, N.L. — Newfoundland and Labrador is hosting the 19th Canada-European Union Leaders' Summit in November.

Twenty-seven European leaders will meet alongside Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, the European Council President Charles Michel, and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen. The last Canada-EU Leaders' Summit was in Brussels, Belgium, on June 14, 2021. This will be the first official visit to Canada of Michel as president of the European Council.Prime Minister Justin Trudeau; President of the European Council Charles Michel; President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen; and leaders of 27 European Countries, including but not limited to Austria, Sweden, and France.St.

"Together, we will work to grow the middle-class, improve quality of life, and build clean economies on both sides of the Atlantic." The RCMP in Newfoundland and Labrador and the RCMP's Protective Services are prepared for the leaders' arrival; however, they cannot disclose details on whether or not locals can expect an increased police presence in downtown St. John's.
