Maybe it was Tre Ford finally being made their starting quarterback or maybe it was the Edmonton Elks moving to make Jarious Jackson their offensive coordinator. One way or another, the Elks have looked like a different team as they’ve won their first two games of the CFL season in recent weeks. And the Calgary Stampeders have to take that very seriously.
But with the Elks riding a two-game win streak, there are many in Canadian football who think they might be able to beat the Stampeders in one or both of their clashes over the next week. A win in the Labour Day Classic on Monday at McMahon Stadium would go a long way towards restoring confidence in the Stampeders’ locker room. With a 3-8 record, they’ve had their ups and downs this season, and it’s sometimes felt like they haven’t been able to get the offence, defence and special teams units all clicking at the same time.
