In contrast, the benchmark price in Canada, according to the Canadian Real Estate Association, was down nearly 18 per cent in January from March 2022 when the price peaked at about $868,000.Article content In the Greater Toronto Area, for example, the benchmark price in January was $1,078,000. The last time the benchmark price had been that low was in September 2021 when the price was $1,065,300, the study found.
The report further noted prices declined the most in Ontario’s major markets, while the Prairies — Alberta included — have declined the least.
