The Flames were originally reported to have been preventing Treliving from talking to teams until after June 30.
Treliving took over the Flames’ general manager position in 2014-15 after spending seven seasons as an assistant with the Arizona Coyotes.
Last summer, following the emotional departure of Johnny Gaudreau, he executed the deal to send Matthew Tkachuk to the Florida Panthers for Jonathan Huberdeau and Mackenzie Weegar.
