Cal State San Marcos will remove founder Bill Craven's name from the administrative building. The former state senator is seen as a symbol of anti-migration and anti-Latino policy by some. Others are outraged that the school's founder is being erased.
SAN DIEGO – Cal State San Marcos was moving forward with a request to separate the school from its founder Bill Craven. Several buildings bare the name of the former state senator.
Craven was criticized for controversial proposals as state senator that some say targeted Latinos. He also made certain remarks regarding migrant communities that are seen as highly offensive. Craven’s daughter, Tricia Craven Worley, joined KUSI’s Logan Byrnes to discuss the efforts underway to remove her father’s name from the school he founded.
