Dolphins' punter Thomas Morstead joined the Jets' Mark Sanchez and Astros' Jonathan Villar in the Butt Hall of Fame, or sports' Fanny Fame.
Former Astros shortstop Jonathan Villar, owner of the worst slide in baseball history, hasn’t chimed in with his thoughts, so we took the matter into our own hands. This has to go down as the worst Demise by Derriere play in sports history. It was so bad,. It happened on Thanksgiving night with the Jets trailing the Patriots 14-0 and Mark Sanchez trying to make the most of a busted play.
When the Jets quarterback realized he had no one to hand off to, he spun around and blindly headed towards the line of scrimmage. Unfortunately for him, future Texans defensive tackle Vince Wilfork shoved Jets guard Brandon Moore backwards and Sanchez slammed his head right into the butt of his 305-pound lineman. The impact caused Sanchez to fumble the ball, which Steve Gregory scooped up and returned 32 yards for a touchdown and a huge lead in a game the Patriots went on to win 49-19.
