Local marina active
With the boating season in full swing, the Trent Port Marina is having a busy season.
Alex Parsons, from the Marina, said that they’re seeing boaters sail in, stay for a few days, and move on to their next destination. “We’ve definitely had a pretty busy season,” said Parsons. “Most of our seasonal slips are filled up and over the past month and a half or so we’ve seen a lot of loopers coming up from the states. Keeping us pretty busy.”
Loopers is a term Parsons used to refer to boaters taking a specific route across most of North America, which passes through Lake Ontario. More people are making long boat trips from the US up into Canada more often than last season, with the reduction in COVID precautions that kept some boaters close to home port.
