Third Ward duplexes for youth in need gutted of furniture and appliances, with $100K in damage

Two duplexes, intended to house youths in need, were gutted of everything from appliances to the thermostat, leaving potential new residents back in at-risk conditions until the space can be repaired.provides shelter for homeless, abused and abandoned youth. The space, on the 3400 block of Taum Street, was planned to house 16 people, with the move-in process beginning last week.

Staff filed a police report after the break in but have not heard any follow-up from law enforcement.
