White supremacy has become America’s most lethal terrorist threat.
There is a growing number of radicalized domestic violent extremists who believe in the superiority of the White race, whose mission is to maintain the United States as a white country, and who are willing to kill innocents to achieve their ideological objectives. They especially violently target people of color, members of religious organizations, and LGBTQI+ persons.
At a congressional hearing last year on racially motivated violent extremists , Rep. Sheila Jackson Leethat between 2009 and 2018, 3 out of 4 killings committed by right-wing extremists in the U.S. were committed by white supremacists.
Gendron didn’t drive south on May 15th but that doesn’t mean Pennsylvania is safe. Our state has long been recognized for its significant number of hate and extremist groups. According to the Southern Poverty Law Center’s lateston hate and extremism, six white nationalist groups call Pennsylvania home – more than any other state in the country.
