Get ready for the Week 6 showdown between the Cleveland Browns and San Francisco 49ers with what you need to know about the Browns' next opponent.
The Browns will come back from their bye in two weeks to take on running back Christian McCaffrey and the 49ers in Cleveland.CLEVELAND, Ohio — After being blown out at home by the Ravens on Sunday, 28-3, the Browns go on their bye week. They’ll be back on the field in Week 6 to take on one of the last two undefeated teams in the NFL: the San Francisco 49ers.
San Francisco also features do-it-all receiver Deebo Samuel, another 1,000-yard receiver in Brandon Aiyuk, one of the NFL’s elite tight ends in George Kittle and potential future Hall of Fame left tackle Trent Williams. The 49ers defense is anchored up front by reigning NFL Defensive Player of the Year Nick Bosa as well as former Pro Bowl defensive tackle Javon Hargrave, who signed a four-year deal worth $84 million to play with Bosa.
That came in 2019, his third season with the 49ers, when he led his team to a 31-3 rout of the Browns in San Francisco. He is 3-0 in games he’s coached against the Browns, including wins when he was an offensive coordinator with the Texans in 2008 and with Washington in 2012. For all the stars that the 49ers have, it has to be noted that ever since Brock Purdy made his first NFL start, the 49ers have yet to lose a regular season game. In fact, the only time Purdy has lost as a starter was when he suffered an elbow injury vs. the Eagles in the NFC Championship Game last season that significantly impacted his ability to throw.
