Welcome back, Josh!
CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Deshaun Watson won’t have his good friend Jacoby Brissett in the quarterback room anymore, but he will have his close friend Joshua Dobbs back.
Dobbs, who’s known Watson since high school and is also privately coached by Watson’s QB tutor Quincy Avery, has agreed to terms on a one-year deal with the Browns. With Brissett signing a one-year deal with the Commanders worth $8 million, Dobbs is the Browns’ current No. 2 behind Watson. Last season, Dobbs, a fourth-round pick of the Steelers in 2017, was waived by the Browns on Nov. 28th when Watson returned from his 11-game suspension. He was immediately signed to the Lions practice squad, and signed off of that by the Titans.
Dobbs went 0-2 in his two starts with the Titans in place of an injured Ryan Tannehill, including a Week 18 20-16 loss to the Jaguars that cost Tennessee a playoff spot.
