The first trailer for BrosMovie reveals Billy Eichner's historic (and very meta) LGBTQ romantic comedy.
Universal Pictures releases the trailer for Billy Eichner's Bros, a historic romantic comedy featuring an entirely LGBTQ+ principal cast. News of the historic rom-com first surfaced in 2019 when it was announced that Eichner would write and star in Bros, directed and co-written by Nick Stoller , and produced by Judd Apatow, known for Trainwreck, Bridesmaids, and countless other rom-coms.
Actor and comedian Billy Eichner leads the cast of Bros as the first openly gay man to write and star in a major studio film. The movie's supporting cast is made up entirely of LGBTQ+ actors, including the Hallmark Channel regular Luke Macfarlane, Community star Jim Rash, Saturday Night Live's Bowen Yang, Scandal's Guillermo Díaz, TS Madison, Miss Lawrence, Symone, and Guy Branum.
Bros is set to remedy this perceived issue with an all LGBTQ+ cast playing characters both gay and straight. Aside from being a historic movie, Bros appears to be an authentic and heartfelt comedy about a single person searching for a meaningful relationship in modern times, which should be enjoyable and relatable for all audiences, regardless of the sexual orientation of the actors or characters involved.
