A Brooklyn family is blaming the NYC Department of Education for an assault that occurred at a NYC elementary school graduation last month.

A Jewish family from Brooklyn is blaming the NYC Department of Education for a possible hate crime that took place at ain Gravesend on June 14. The alleged incident comes at a time when antisemitism continues to plague the city, particularly since the start of the Israel – Hamas conflict on Oct. 7, 2023.

Police were called to the scene and arrested Bazar, age 26, and charged him with third-degree assault. According to police sources, the incident is being investigated as a hate crime. Rubenstein said the outcome would ultimately be determined by the Brooklyn District Attorney’s office.Following the incident, Nunez went to Maimonides Hospital after sustaining injuries to his head, elbows, and left knee.
