What’s fascinating, however, is that folks do not often mention Henderson’s fantastic game when expressing their admiration. Like Levesque did, they invariably speak of the person she is, or the one they perceive her to be.
“I like that she always has a smile on the course. Even if she’s having a rough day, she’ll always smile, she’s positive,” Gilbart said. “She’s also a family person. Her sister caddies for her and that relates to me, because I like hanging out with my brother and we challenge each other on the golf course.”
“I love living in the moment as best I can and finding that peacefulness and calmness,” Henderson said. “Because out here it is just go, go, go.” “I feel like I did a lot of things right,” she said. “I feel like the decision not to go to college worked out well, but at the time there was a lot of hesitation and a lot of points of view that I received there, but I’m grateful I chose that path and grateful that it worked out so well.
“Yeah, true. I feel like I grew up out on tour. I played my first event when I was 14. Then I played one or two a year after that until I was 17 and got my tour card, won my first event. And even between 17 years old to 25 now, I feel like I’ve grown so much. As a player, yes, but as a person I’ve really matured.
