Bronny and Bryce James returned to Ohio with Sierra Canyon to face LeBron's alma mater, St. Vincent-St. Mary. Unfortunately for them, the trip wasn't particularly memorable.
Bronny, an 18-year-old guard, and Bryce, a 15-year-old forward, are playing on the same team for the first time.
LeBron James did not attend the game to witness a first – his two sons playing against the high school where he starred before becoming the No. 1 pick of the 2003 NBA draft. The Lakers played in Los Angeles on Friday night and play again in L.A. on Sunday at 6:30 p.m. PT. LeBron James was in attendance the first two times the teams played, with Bronny winning MVP honors in 2019 during Sierra Canyon's 59-56 victory in Columbus and Bronny scoring a team-high 19 points in 2021 in Sierra Canyon's 71-53 victory in Los Angeles.St. Vincent-St. Mary finally prevailed in part because Bronny was not at his best.
He missed his first five shots from the floor and made just one field goal before fouling out with 2:30 left to play. He scored six of his points in the third quarter and helped spark an 11-0 run as Sierra Canyon retook the lead 40-39. But St. Vincent-St. Mary regained control and led by as many as 10 points in the fourth quarter before holding off a late Sierra Canyon rally.
