Could the rain be a problem for Brock Purdy?

But what he doesn't have as an Arizona native — and what he didn't get in his time in Ames — is reps in the rain.
Incredibly, Saturday's wild card game against the Seattle Seahawks could be one of the first times in Purdy's career that the former Cyclone will be dealing with real rain. The"potent" storm forecast to hit Santa Clara on Saturday afternoon is likely to produce"moderate to heavy rain" and"potential for flooding,"When Purdy was at Iowa State, he played in just three games where there was rain at the time of kickoff.
There is one game, however, that was notably rainy during Purdy's tenure at Iowa State. It was a rescheduled game in November 2018 against Drake University, a small FCS program in nearby Des Moines. The Cyclones were ranked 23rd in the nation heading into this wet and muddy matchup, and they still nearly lost, just narrowly edging out the Bulldogs 27-24. Purdy was fine in the air, completing 15 of his 22 passes for 153 yards and a touchdown, but he was horrendous on the ground, losing 16 yards in total.
