NEW WATERFORD, N.S. — An early Christmas awaited 11-year-old Brett Costigan in New Waterford on Saturday.staff. They handed out gifts for the young local, who has spina bifida — a rare spinal condition causing paralysis in the lower body.from friends, family and firefighters — not to mention some more gifts.“He’s kind of overwhelmed right now,” laughed Costigan’s mother, Crystal Singh, as she watched him show off his new Air Jordan shoes to his siblings.
“There was a bunch of stuff he wanted.
