One of the main actors behind the 2019 murder of an intellectually challenged Anchorage teenager was sentenced Monday to 99 years in prison, with no time suspended.

Brehmer admitted her part in the murder, accepting a deal from prosecutors that included pleading guilty to a first-degree murder charge in exchange for several other charges being dropped.Brehmer believed she was in a relationship with a man she met online who was willing to pay her $9 million to murder someone in Alaska. But that man, Darin Schilmiller, was not the person he’d led Brehmer to believe.

According to court documents, Brehmer didn’t pull the trigger but was one of two people present when it happened. Defense Attorney Emily Cooper asked for an 80-year sentence with 20 years suspended.
