Peach exists to give the queer community experiences to which it does not always have access. This, Auberry says, means providing “curated cocktails, performances, and the ability to get dressed up and feel like you’re going to something larger than a party.” It also means affordable tickets.

In 2017, the cultural marketing company Black Thread Agency launched Peach, a Chicago-based brand and event series devoted to celebrating LGBTQ+ women and femmes. Through its themed events, Peach works to give attendees something more than just a party, but rather, a fully immersive and unique experience.

Auberry is proud of Peach’s “out-of-the-box” events and venues. Most recently, the team threw a series called Legendary Parties, for which they reimagined parties throughout history in a queer inclusive way. There were events like “Met Gala: Threads of a Riot,” which focused on celebrating the queer community’s impact on fashion. There was also “Carnivale,” which Auberry says was created specifically with queer people of color in mind.

“We’re having conversations that maybe their company, organization or team wasn’t having,” Auberry explains, “That is a challenge we will always be up for.” Peach has long been referred to as Peach Party, but the brand will soon relaunch as Peach Presents. Doing so, Auberry says, will give them the freedom to host an even greater variety of events.
