by refunding duplicated returns and taking the cash for himself.The first offender pleaded guilty today at Glasgow Sheriff Court to embezzlement.

The court heard that sales attendant McCuaig carried out the crime on"multiple occasions in small sums”.Prosecutor Ross Canning said:"He managed to achieve this by duplicating returned items and thereafter refunding the money back onto the customer's card. "Thereafter, he withdrew the same amount from the cash in the till and simply stored it in his underwear by means of a zip.An investigation was sparked and McCuaig's actions were confirmed.However, the court was informed that he no longer has this addiction and McCuaig lost his job as a result of the theft.McCuaig, of the city's Barrowfield, had his bail continued meantime.
