Orange's Ben Pomeranets is all smiles after claiming the Division II state tennis title Saturday in Mason, Ohio.CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Orange’s Ben Pomeranets capped a remarkable run last season with a state championship. He made sure not to let anything stop him this time around either, during his senior season, winning the Division II state tennis singles title for the second consecutive season.
“The match against Cole Cozens in the semifinals of the state was the most impressive performance I’ve ever seen in high school tennis,” Orange head coach Richard Bole said. “ just took a kid with a 125, 130 mile per hour serve and a massive ATP quality forehand, and Ben just took him to pieces. Ben was just too solid.”
