Music was Betty's 'constant companion' for half her life and her dreams came true when she was able to return to the cathedral where she played the piano as a child. She was said to 'shine with joy' as her fingers danced across the keys once again.
Geanina Tinca, the home's general manager, said:"We want everyone we care for to know how important they are to us here at Hilton Park Care Home. It was so nice to see how happy Betty was – and the staff loved being a part of this as well."
Betty played with 'all her heart' for around an hour, and when it was time to return home, she said 'with a radiant smile' that she would 'definitely be returning'. Ely Cathedral staff were 'warm and welcoming', embracing the group with 'open arms' and offering to make Betty's dream come true again. Barchester Healthcare, one of the UK's largest providers, runs Hilton Park care home. It offers residential care, nursing and respite for residents, from respite care to long-term stays. What do you think of Betty's story? Let us know in the comments below.
