"I’ve seen enough. This bill is even worse than we expected, and won’t come close to ending the border catastrophe the President has created," Johnson, with their frustration with the deal perhaps best, if not crudely, summed up by Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, who called it "a steaming bill of crap." Sen. James Lankford, R-Okla., the lead Republican negotiator, has repeatedly criticized his party for its deepening entrenchment against the legislation he helped craft, especially because they lack a viable alternative.
