Daniel King, 30, of Millville, became unresponsive around 8 p.m. on July 8 while in custody at the State Police’s Bridgeton Station in Upper Deerfield. He was being held at the facility after he was arrested and charged with aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, authorities said.In body cam footage released on Thursday, King is seen throwing a punch at a state trooper before the trooper takes out his baton and uses it to get him on the ground.
Trooper Mark Allonardo responded to a home in Fairfield about 7 p.m. on July 8, where he met with King, who had requested an escort to retrieve property from the residence, authorities said. King then became confrontational with the trooper and attempted to assault him.
