The Oshawa clinic is looking to fill nearly 200 empty appointments before Labour Day.
“It has just been complicated by floodings and wildfires,” said Community Development Manager Laura Jewell, in an interview with Durham Radio News. “It has really strained our communities as people try to cope with the emergencies in front of them. Fewer people have been donating.”“You’re helping patients all around get the critical blood and plasma products that are needed,” said Jewell. “We are able to help fill the gaps that different areas of the country are facing right now.
