While Emily Ratajkowski stays loyal to her beloved Puma Speed Cats, Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds are firmly pro-Converse as the battle for the sneaker of the summer heats up. And they’re making a persuasive case. The power couple stepped out in New York City wearing lightly coordinated casual outfits, both in shades of blue with matching cuffed pants. Lively wore light-wash mom jeans and a racerback tank, accessorized with sunglasses and a straw purse.
Not that Converse have ever been out of style, but they’re definitely having a moment right now. Vivienne, daughter of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, wore a pair to opening night of the Broadway musical her mom produced. Brittany Mahomes wore Converse to take in an NBA game with her husband and his coworkers. And Sophie Turner’s new beau, Peregrine Pearson, is a total Converse Convert too. Oh, the battle between the pleasures of high-tops and the pain of having to get them on and off your feet.
