Blackburn’s own ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ star AJ Odudu will switch on the town’s Christmas lights
Christmas is almost here - and Blackburn's two trees have been erected to mark the beginning of the festive season.
Heading towards the Blackburn switch-on, Pop-Up Entertainment will wow crowds with a Christmas show before AJ officially switches on the lights, followed by a fireworks display. Television presenter AJ, who was born in Blackburn and whose family still live in the town, made it to the Strictly Come Dancing final in 2021 – until an ankle injury forced her out of the competition.
On the same day as the lights switch on, Santa Claus will open his Christmas Toy Emporium in The Mall Blackburn. Blackburn Market’s extended opening hours will start with traders opening every Sunday in the run-up to Christmas day.
