Black Boy Lane re-named due to 'concerns about the racial connotations'
A street in north London is to be officially re-named on Monday, due to "concerns about the racial connotations" of its current name.
It is among several roads and buildings across London to be re-named following Black Lives Matter protests.Black Boy Lane, thought to have been named after a pub in the late 17th Century, is being re-named following a decision by Haringey in February 2022.death of George FloydThe authority said "many other residents shared the concerns about the racial connotations of the name and the impact its continued use has on black people in Haringey".
Founder Robert Poll said: "This move is representative of the current impulse to hunt out racism and offence where there is none as a performative display of virtuousness."
