The one skill that stood out that had the strongest correlation to winning baseball games was the ability to get on base, which essentially meant take a walk and understand the strike zone. The advantage to us was this was a skill that was about the eighth or ninth highest paid skill in the game. People weren't paying for it, so a small market club or a low revenue club like ourselves could pay for it.
