A pattern change will bring thunderstorms and cooler weather to North Texas.

Much of the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex experienced heavy rain and strong winds after being placed under several storm warnings throughout the evening.A pattern change is on track for Wednesday and Wednesday night as a potent storm system pushes into the region.
But for the most part, this will be a beneficial rain, with totals expected to reach two inches or more across much of the area by the time it ends Thursday afternoon. Some localized flooding could occur, so watch for high water and never drive through it.Cooler air will also arrive with our midweek front. Fall weather will finally get here, with high temperatures dropping to the 70s by the weekend. Overnight lows will fall into the 50s.
