.JoeBiden 'looks forward' to visiting Canada in March for first time as president
The announcement came in a readout of the president's bilateral meeting with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau at the North American Leaders' Summit in Mexico City. Biden drew fire from some Canadian critics earlier in his term for failing to visit the country, the second-largest U.S. trading partner, in person.Biden did"virtually" host Trudeau and a delegation of Canadian officials in October of 2021. COVID-19 restrictions had scuttled the previously planned in-person meetings and provided plenty of awkward photos, showing Biden dwarfed by a video screen bearing a larger-than-life Trudeau.
Both leaders will meet with Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador on Tuesday at the"Three Amigos" summit.
