Joe Biden suggests any voter concerned over sexual assault allegation by former Senate staffer should “follow their heart” when deciding who they will vote for in November. Biden has denied the allegation.
“I think they should vote their heart. And if they believe Tara Reade, they probably shouldn't vote for me. I wouldn't vote for me if I believed Tara Reade,” Biden said in an MSNBC interview Thursday night.
“You and I were there, Joe Biden, please step forward and be held accountable. You should not be running on character for President of the United States,” Reade said during an interview with journalist Megyn Kelly. When asked if he had any memory of Reade working in his senate office 27 years ago, the former vice president said he did not.
Reade first came forward publicly in March of 2019, joining several women in alleging that Biden made them feel uncomfortable with physical contact such as unwanted hugs, kisses on the head, and standing uncomfortably close, but none of the women -- including Reade-- alleged assault at that time.
