The president, whose administration has worked with Truss during her tenure as former Prime Minister Boris Johnson's foreign secretary, said he looked forward to continuing his work with the United Kingdom."Congratulations to Prime Minister Liz Truss," Biden tweeted.
"Congrats to @trussliz on becoming the UK’s next Prime Minister," Blinken tweeted Tuesday."I know that through the #SpecialRelationship, we will continue to work together as the closest of Allies to address shared challenges around the world." The U.K. had been one of Ukraine's greatest allies under Johnson's leadership. Truss has additionally been a strong advocate and ally for the U.S. when it comes to confronting China.
