Sieta Achampong graduated at the top of her class with a 4.22 GPA in 1997, and said she wanted to return to teach in her hometown school district in Harrisburg.

This is one in a series of five profiles.

She told the Patriot-News as much in 1997 when she was named Best and Brightest after graduating as one of the top five students in her class with a grade-point average of 4.22. Achampong also served as student council president and the student representative to the school board. As it turned out, she taught English, earned a PhD and eventually became principal of Harrisburg’s Sci Tech campus.
