Berlin Film Festival Outlines Physical Event: 50% Cinema Capacities, No Parties, Masks & Testing, Schedule Change

The Berlin International Film Festival has spelled out how it will host its 2022 edition physically under the latest rules imposed by the German government., the fest’s industry arm, the European Film Market , has moved to a virtual event this year. The main festival will be reduced from the planned February 10-20 dates to February 10-16, with repeat screenings held 17-20. The awards ceremony will now take place on February 16.Red carpets will still be held, in a limited capacity, as will press conferences and photo calls. At the time of writing, travellers to Germany are not subject to quarantine, as long as they present proof of full vaccination status, a recent negative test, or evidence of recovery from a recent Covid infection upon arrival.
