The Israeli Prime Minister is looking to secure his hold on the premiership, however his fortunes could change after Attorney General Avichai Mandelblit charged the 70-year-old on Thursday.
: Israel’s Attorney General has charged Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in corruption cases dating back three years, a move that is likely to dent the 70-year-old’s chances of staying in office as Israel’s political stalemate deepens.
Allegations against Netanyahu include bribery, fraud and breach of trust. Netanyahu, who recently became Israel’s longest-serving prime minister, has denied wrongdoing and, taking a leaf out of Donald Trump’s playbook, the Israeli prime minister claims he is the victim of a “witch hunt.”
