'It costs $47 and there's nothing inside.'
One half of the iconic Ben & Jerry's duo—Ben Cohen, who co-founded the company with Jerry Greenfield in 1977—is getting political with his latest pint: An entire line of Bernie Sanders-inspired ice cream.
So naturally, for the 2020 primaries, Cohen decided to revive the idea with pints of"Bernie's Back." He announced the news to social media Friday, tweeting,"We're going all the way this time." "The chocolate disc represents all the wealth that has risen to the top 1 percent," the description reads."The backbone represents Bernie's steadfast determination to un-rig our economy. And the hot cinnamon is our political revolution holding politicians' feet to the fire to make America work for working people of all races and genders."
— Ben Cohen August 2, 2019 The internet, however, isn't so into the idea. People are mocking the sh*t out of both Sanders and this launch, taking aim at his socialist-leaning views."The container is only 10% full because he taxed it at 90%?" one user wrote on Twitter. Others added,"It costs $47 and there's nothing inside" and"Don't fall for it! It's just the old Stalin flavor with new packaging.
