'I loved alcohol and it got to the point where I even started to cancel nights out that I felt like I wouldn’t be able to control myself'
Photo: Gotham/GC Images Next time someone judges you for not drinking at a party, tell them this: You’re just following in the footsteps of vaccinated supermodel Bella Hadid, who apparently hasn’t had a drop of alcohol in the past six months.
The model opened up about her new sobriety during a recent interview with InStyle. “I have done my fair share of drinking,” she said. “I loved alcohol and it got to the point where I even started to, you know, cancel nights out that I felt like I wouldn’t be able to control myself.” This isn’t the first time that Hadid has spoken about the negative effects of drinking socially.
Speaking with InStyle, Hadid actually credited her new alcohol-free life to Kin Spritz, specifically a flavor called Lightwave, made to relieve stress. “I drink this when I have crippling anxiety and I can’t leave my house, or when I’m not gonna drink alcohol but still want to loosen up and be able to speak to people and socialize,” she explained.
As for the future, the model said she doesn’t think she’ll ever go back to drinking, in part because she realized how it perpetuated a cycle of “pain and stress” and even caused more anxiety. “I don’t feel the need because I know how it will affect me at three in the morning when I wake up with horrible anxiety thinking about that one thing I said five years ago when I graduated high school,” she said.
