Belinda Queen will instead run for Prince George's County Council's District 6 seat.
resign but felt as though she had accomplished her campaign goals on the school board. As a lifelong county resident, she said she wanted to move to the county council to have a bigger impact on the jurisdiction’s residents.
While Queen was on the school board, she helped raise teachers’ salaries and retain staffers, she said. Although the pandemic caused a huge disruption in schools, Queen said she was proud of the work she did to help children who were learning at home stay engaged.
