Beaches will open next Friday in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Delaware—but only at 50% capacity

“If other states were opening, and New York wasn’t, you’d have millions of people flooding those beaches,” CuomoCuomo also stated that concession stands, amusement parks, pools, picnic areas, arcades and playgrounds would remain closed, and that contact activities, such as football and volleyball, will be prohibited.
Local governments can decide to open their beaches or stay closed, according to Cuomo, but he added, “if they choose to open, they must adopt the state’s requirements at a minimum.”In his own briefing on Friday, New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio said that opening New York City’s beaches by Memorial Day was “not in the cards.”“We are one multi-state region. What one state does will affect other states.
