BCSO deputy arrested for smuggling marijuana into jail
A Bexar County Sheriff's deputy has been arrested after being accused of smuggling marijuana into jail.A Bexar County sheriff’s probationary deputy was arrested after attempting to smuggle marijuana and synthetic marijuana into the jail, Sheriff Javier Salazar said Sunday.
Kolbe A. Counts Ramirez, 21, was arrested for criminal conspiracy to introduce prohibited substances into a correctional facility, possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana.The inmate involved has not been charged or arrested yet, Salazar said. The sheriff’s office is also trying to identify another person outside the facility who took part in the plot.
“Things like this are an absolute slap in the face to the thousands of law enforcement officers in this county who come to work everyday and do their job the way it is expected of them,” Salazar said.
