BBC Radio 1 controller Ben Cooper will be leaving the broadcaster after eight years
is to leave the broadcaster after eight years at the helm of the U.K.'s leading top 40 radio station.
As well as being controller of Radio 1, London-based Cooper responsibilities include editorial content, leadership and overall management of the urban-focused digital radio station 1Xtra and Asian Network. During his time at the helm of the station, Cooper oversaw a major revamp of Radio 1's schedule and helped grow its digital audience to more than 15 million weekly YouTube views and 10 million social media followers.
